The Masai Mara national reserve is Kenya's most popular safari destination. Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world visit the Mara to enjoy the incredible wildlife watching experience that the reserve offers. Many of them time their safari to coincide with the annual wildebeest migration from Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. What some don't know however is that, even without the migration, the Maasai Mara is a great all-year-round destination. The reserve hosts plenty of animals, including all the big five animals, several predators, thousands of plains animals, and much much more. This website is a labor of love by Ngerende Island Lodge, to provide as much information as possible for anyone planning to visit the Mara, or who just wants to know more about this famous Kenyan game reserve.
